Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details
- Unit Beds: 16
- Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1 or 1:1; occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
- Staffing: RNs only (no unit clerks or patient care techs)
- Equipment: Ventilators, Telemetry, Baxter IV Pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, Hypothermia equipment
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Schedule: 36 hours/week, 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends
- Floating Policy: Travelers float to all areas
- Dress Code: Navy or Navy and White scrubs only; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs except when uniform is soiled
Required Skills & Experience
- Specialty: ICU nursing
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification required; CCRN recommended but not required
- Clinical Skills:
- Titration of vesicant medications
- Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Experience with ventilators and tracheostomies
- Telemetry interpretation
- Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup/interpretation
- Transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE
- Familiarity with chest tube insertion and maintenance
- Advanced Skills (Desirable): IABP, Impella, CRRT
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Cardioversion
- Central line insertion
- EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy)
- Bronchoscopy
- Chest tube insertions
- Pericardiocentesis
- Thoracentesis
