Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Specialty: Registered Nurse – MedSurg, Oncology Floor
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
Job Details
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)
- Shift Preference: 3x12 preferred, 4x12 considered
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7 (experience with higher ratios required)
- Block Scheduling: Considered
- Unit: Oncology Floor (MedSurg)
- EMR Systems: Cerner & Soarian
- Scrubs: Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year recent MedSurg experience (higher years not specified)
- Oncology experience highly preferred
- Previous travel experience preferred (not explicitly required)
Required Certifications & Skills
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Skills: Telemetry, IV Start
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Proof of I9 or Attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (color copy required)
- Proof of E-Verify or attestation
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Education verification (Diploma or Transcript accepted)
- NURSYS verification for RNs
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Fit test completed on site (no cost to worker)
- TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (9/3 through 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption
- Two recent supervisor/manager references verified within 12 months
- Completion of facility-specific HealthStream modules prior to start
- Facility-specific forms including IS115 and IS119 (time sensitive, must be signed in wet ink or DocuSign)
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies, shoulders up) required within 24 hours of signing
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 31-50 miles considered; candidates under 30 miles will not be considered
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required
- Must be able to work with patient ratios of 1:6 or 1:7; experience with higher ratios required
- Royal Blue scrubs required but not provided by the facility
