Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/PCU (Nights)

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide professional nursing care for critically ill patients, from pediatric through geriatric populations, following AACN (American Association of Critical Care Nursing) standards.
  • Responsible for patient assessment, development and implementation of care plans, and evaluation of nursing care effectiveness.
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and life-threatening emergencies and take appropriate action.
  • Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessments.
  • Prioritize patient problems and needs based on actual or potential threats.
  • Manage life-threatening complications, maintain airway and ventilation, hemodynamic stability, and stable heart rhythm.
  • Assist with temporary pacemaker insertion and ambulance transport as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills in critical care nursing, including licensure, certification, and mandatory education.
  • Participate in annual competency evaluations.
