Job Opportunity: Scrub Tech (Operating Room)
Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Clinical - Allied - Travel
Job Description
- Provide specific patient care duties and unit support activities in the operating room suite.
- Anticipate needs before and during surgical cases, assist with dressings and cast application post-procedure.
- Follow physician preference cards for cases.
- Maintain accountability for complete instrumental trays and perform surgical counts (towel clips, Allis, Ednas) according to policy.
- Document and communicate important data, including signing counts and reporting exceptions.
- Identify problems and take appropriate action independently to improve quality of care.
- May work additional or different shifts as requested.
- Responsible for one department task beyond routine duties.
- Participate in teaching and submit recommendations for process improvements or cost containment.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years as a scrub person in a hospital setting.
- Must have orthopedic, neuro, and robotic surgical experience.
Licensure & Certification
- Preferred: Completion of an approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training.
- Preferred: Scrub Tech Certification.
- Required: BLS for Healthcare Providers.
