Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 5x8 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts (may change during interview)
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call: Will take call (on-call late team); details to be discussed during interview
• Scheduling: Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Licensure: Must have Tennessee or compact nursing license at time of application
• Distance Requirement: Must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience without prior travel experience
• OR at least 2 years of OR experience with prior travel experience (prior travel experience required if only 2 years OR experience)

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only, required for all candidates except some allied health roles
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for OR travelers going to certain locations (confirm if applicable)
• Other Certifications:

  • National certification for OR Techs (CST or NBSTA) if applicable
  • State license copy required (TN or multistate compact)

Licensure & Compliance

• Must have valid TN or compact nursing license
• Background checks including statewide, county, federal, education verification, sex offender search, and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry (TN only)
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Fit mask test (3M N-95 only) within 1 year of start, must pass prior to start
• Immunizations required:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
  • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (3 shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations required if employed with agency for one year or more
• Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, etc.)
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Must sign confidentiality acknowledgment prior to start

• Prior travel experience is explicitly required if only 2 years OR experience is held
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed; candidates should consider if this is a deal breaker
• On-call responsibilities are part of the role and will be discussed during interview
