Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Auburn, Washington
Specialty: Birth Center / Labor & Delivery
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years total Labor & Delivery experience
- At least 1 year specifically in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers considered)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Fetal Monitoring
Skills & Responsibilities
- Strong Labor & Delivery skills including:
- Cervical exams
- Antepartum and labor management
- Amnio infusions
- Epidurals
- Fetal monitoring
- IVs and Pitocin administration
- Postpartum care: Comfortable managing all aspects from transition to discharge for mother and baby
- Circulate C-sections (required)
- Baby catching/receiving (required)
- APGAR scoring
- Breastfeeding knowledge
- Scrub experience preferred but not required
Work Environment
- EMR system: EPIC
- Unit beds: 20 total (12 L&D, 8 postpartum/antepartum)
- Additional areas: 3 OB/ED rooms, 2 OR, 6-bed Level II NICU
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No on-call required
- Scrubs provided (teal color)
- Multilingual patient population (Russian/Spanish preferred)
- NP available on call
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Flu documentation and annual competencies required
- Various standard healthcare compliance and credentialing requirements apply (e.g., background checks, immunizations, drug screen)
