Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) - Travel/Contract

Location: Easton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required (4 weekends in a 4-week cycle)
Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
Start Date: February 23, 2026, or ASAP

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience not required

Licenses & Certifications Required

• Maryland RN State License
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, STABLE certifications as applicable (refer to unit/job description)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (80%+ score)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) at orientation (85% required)
• NURSYS Verification and State License primary source verification required

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Floating within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed (including sister facility in Chestertown; floating is typically rare)
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as scheduled
• No on-call duties
• Scrub color: Royal Blue

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, nationwide checks, education verification, and state-specific exclusions
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Latex screening
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and titers required or accepted with exemptions (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap)
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required for 2025-26 season
• COVID vaccine no longer required for this location, but documentation or declination for tracking is requested
• TB testing: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 1 year, or 2-step PPD as per guidelines, updated annually
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start required
• Verification of at least 2 years hospital or equivalent acute care experience within last 5 years required
• Agency application/resume within 30 days of start required

Orientation & Facility Policies

• Orientation typically held at 8 AM on Tuesdays at the facility's School of Nursing
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs or business casual during orientation (scrubs required on floor)
• Candidates must review and sign confidentiality agreements, dress code policies, and other facility-specific documents prior to start
• Badge photo and security ID application required within 72 hours of contract signing

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete various competency exams and pass with minimum scores as specified
• Crisis Prevention Institute training includes an online module prior to orientation and an on-site session during orientation
• Floating to sister facility is rare but may be required
• Background checks and credential verifications are strictly enforced, including felony history review
