Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
• Trauma Experience:

  • Level II trauma experience required (at least 1 year)
  • Level I trauma experience preferred
• Robotics Experience:

  • Must be proficient with the DaVinci Xi robot (function independently without refresher training)
  • Bonus if familiar with DaVinci DV5 robot
  • Proficient with robotic general, gynecologic, thoracic, and urology specialties
  • Other robotic experience (e.g., ortho/neuro robots) not relevant
• Additional Preferred Experience: Thoracic and vascular experience highly preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: Required

Work Schedule & Requirements

• RTO (Return to Office): Maximum 7 days
• Weekends: 3-4 weekend shifts within a 6-week matrix (day, evening, or night shifts)
• Holidays: Scheduled per department needs (day, evening, or night shifts)
• Call Requirements: 2-3 calls within a 6-week matrix with a 30-minute callback response
• Floating: Not applicable
• Unit Expectations:

  • Prefer RNs who can scrub and circulate
  • May care for COVID patients
• Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free

Certifications & Competencies

• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) depending on unit requirements
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) as applicable

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years of start; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending)
• Education verification of highest level completed
• Employment application and recent resume required
• 2 professional references within 3 years required
• Annual skills checklist required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
• Immunizations and/or positive titers required for:

  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Mumps - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Rubella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
• Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (requirement for agency only, not facility)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Summary

This is a travel/contract Operating Room RN position in York, PA requiring at least 2 years of RN experience with Level II trauma experience and proficiency in DaVinci robotic surgery systems. Prior travel experience is mandatory. The role involves weekend and holiday shifts, call responsibilities, and working in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment. Comprehensive background checks, certifications, immunizations, and facility-specific compliance are required prior to and during the assignment.
