Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lansing, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: 3x 12-hour night shifts (Friday-Sunday)
Start Date: ASAP
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
On-Call: No
Floating: No
Block Schedule: Not accommodated
Locals Accepted: Yes (no local radius rule)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years (Pediatric and Adult critical care experience required)
  • First-time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
  • Work Setting Experience:
    • Emergency Room (ER)
    • Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Certifications Required

  • State Respiratory Therapist License (current MI license required)
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) by American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapist - Technician)

Respiratory Care Skills Required

  • Airway Management
  • Medication Administration
  • Ventilator Management
  • Oxygen Therapy

  • Pulmonary Toileting
  • Nebulizer Treatments
  • BiPAP and CPAP

Polysomnography / Sleep Studies Experience

Work Hours Guarantee

  • 36 hours for 3 shifts of 12 hours each
  • 48 hours for 4 shifts of 12 hours each
  • 40 hours for shifts under 12 hours (8 or 10-hour shifts)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID
  • Social Security Card
  • E-Verify
  • Background Check (within 30 days of assignment start) including:
    • 7-year Social Security Number Trace
    • National Criminal History Search (7 years)
    • National Sex Offender Database Search
    • FACIS Level 3 Search
    • Education Verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (within 30 days)
  • High School Diploma/GED verification (except RNs)
  • Physical Exam (within 12 months, must note latex sensitivity)
  • Fit Mask OSHA Respirator Form (completed at least 1 week prior to start)
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or immunity titers)
    • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or immunity titers)
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen with THC (within 30 days)
  • Flu Vaccination or Declination (seasonal requirement)
  • Facility-specific modules and documents to be completed prior to or at orientation
  • Competency Exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology and unit-specific)
  • References: 2 from previous employers
  • Resume with 7-year work history

Additional Notes

  • No floating outside scope of practice
  • No pending license acceptance
  • Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
  • Must submit Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at profile submission

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with critical care skills in both pediatric and adult populations, who have prior travel contract experience and are ready to work night shifts in a high-acuity, Magnet-recognized teaching hospital.
