Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel (Full Time)
Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Cardiac and Telemetry patients
Not a Stepdown unit
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
Potential for floating to other locations
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
No on-call requirement
Temp-to-perm possibility

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licenses

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Current RN license in Louisiana or compact state
BLS certification from AHA required
ACLS certification from AHA required

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
No explicit requirement for prior travel experience

Orientation & Competency

New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days
Precepted by trained staff with competency validations (including MedSurg specific)
Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
Annual competency verification required

Job Responsibilities

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently
Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation
Manage psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
Meet applicable organizational competencies for leadership and clinical practice

This position is ideal for an experienced RN comfortable with cardiac and telemetry patients, working night shifts, and interested in a travel assignment with potential for permanent placement.
