Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy including:

  • HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula)
  • BIPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure)
  • Ventilator management
  • Tracheostomies
  • Chest physiotherapy (CPT)
  • Vest therapy
  • Bronchoscopy assistance
  • Metaneb therapy

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Required Health & Compliance

• Influenza vaccine or mask-wearing during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required (not completed onsite)
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
• Health Statement or physical exam: Completed prior to first assignment and updated annually

Required Professional Verifications & Testing

• Ascension Specialty Exam: Minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
• Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly
• Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills verification, updated annually
• Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others; updated annually
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check: Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Education Verification: Must be completed within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Employment Verification: Past 7 years, updated annually
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation required

• Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form completed onsite
• Pre-hire onboarding includes 6 hours of education with attestation required
• Flu season mask policy applies even if vaccine is declined
• Post-assignment evaluation may be requested
