Job Opportunity: Radiology Interventional Technologist
Location: Clinton Township, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist, this role specializes in performing invasive procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological conditions as prescribed by a physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for exams
- Obtain additional patient medical history as needed
- Prepare contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration
- Review clinical data, analyze patient anatomy, set up equipment, and assist Radiologist with complex diagnostic invasive procedures
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment
- Ensure adequate supplies (needles, catheters, etc.) are available and properly stored
- Assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images
- Assist with training new personnel or students as assigned
- Perform imaging procedures following radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques)
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS
- Complete study indexing and documentation in Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Perform Quality Assurance procedures and all necessary clinical and billing documentation
- Utilize independent judgment for imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices
- Demonstrate team standards including communication, positive attitude, innovation, and respect for diversity
Required Education
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education
Required Certification & Licensure
- Healthcare Provider certification (BLS)
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced registry in one of the following:
- Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI)
- Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI)
- Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV)
