Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Days)

Job Description

• Provide direct patient/resident care and delegate tasks to patient care technicians.
• Maintain knowledge and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facility care.
• Care for general surgical and orthopedic surgical patients with basic medical/surgical knowledge.
• Communicate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician’s plan of care (30%).
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, and call lights (30%).
• Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and participate in updating/revising plans to improve patient care (20%).
• Process physician/provider orders accurately and timely (10%).
• Follow up on medication changes and order clarifications (10%).

Requirements

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience (required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Highly preferred but not required
• Licensure: Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys verification required)
• Certifications:

  • American Heart Association BLS (required)
  • American Heart Association ACLS (required)
• Skills:

  • Current skills checklist pertinent to Med Surg specialty (within 1 year)
  • 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last 2 years
• EMR System: Epic (experience highly preferred)
• Additional Notes:

  • Candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not considered)
  • Scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; no changes allowed after offer

• Located on a 225-acre wooded campus in Midland, Michigan
• 324-bed Medical Center offering a broad range of primary and specialty care services
• Dress code: Navy Blue

This position is ideal for experienced Med Surg RNs looking for a temporary assignment in a well-established healthcare setting with Epic EMR experience.
