Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: Towson, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Start Date: 02/23/2026
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled
Floating: Required within specialty and lower acuity as needed
On-Call: Not required
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Licenses & Certifications Required
- Maryland RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for Tele and stroke patient care; must be updated annually)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, STABLE) - refer to unit/job description
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80%+)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam (score 80%+)
- Age Specific Competency Exam (score 80%+)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (score 80%+)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification for highest level of education
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Two supervisory references within 1 year (1 must be supervisor/manager, 1 charge RN acceptable)
- Employment history verification for previous 5-7 years (attestation accepted if necessary)
- Agency application/resume completed within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (required for units working with children or newborns)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- TB Questionnaire if positive TB result (within 2 weeks prior to start)
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted; series not accepted)
- Varicella
- Negative drug screen (9 or 10 panel depending on facility) within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/6 - 3/31)
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but vaccine or declination collected for tracking
Facility Specific Requirements
- IT confidentiality agreement to be signed within 24 hours of receipt
- Passport-style photo with solid white/beige background for badge
- Medical flu declination form if applicable (must be signed by physician)
- Respiratory protection questionnaire signed by medical professional
- Job description acknowledgment signed prior to start
- Security ID application completed within 72 hours of signing contract
- Confidentiality agreement signed prior to start
- Dress code reviewed prior to start
- Latex allergy questionnaire completed by candidate and physician if applicable
- Epic Portfolio Training Test Out Form (if applicable)
Additional Notes
- Floating within specialty and lower acuity units is required
- On-call shifts are not required for this position
- Candidate must be aware of weekend and holiday work requirements
- All documentation and compliance must be completed timely to avoid delays in credentialing and orientation
