Position Overview

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (Surgery)
  • Unit: Surgery Department (Cost Center 2779 (701))
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Shift Details:
    • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
    • Weekend hours: Every other weekend / as needed
    • Call requirements: As needed; approximately 10-11 days of call per month (may increase to 15-16 days if only two staff)
  • Float Requirements: As needed, including Pre-Op

Facility & Unit Information

  • Facility Type: 47-bed acute care hospital
  • Unit Beds: 3 OR beds, 3 PACU beds, 5 Preop beds
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
  • Patient Population: All ages
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR): CQI and Medhost

Requirements

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years in OR nursing specialty
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • HWC (Hazardous Waste Certification)
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license to practice in New Mexico
  • Background Check: Fingerprinting and background check required by New Mexico Department of Health; 14-day waiver possible with supervision while results are pending
  • Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs; casual wear and open-toed shoes are not allowed

Additional Information

  • Start Date: Must be available to start within 7-10 days from offer acceptance (rapid response)
  • Travel Experience: Preferred but not required
  • Personality Fit: Professional demeanor expected
