Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Facility Type: Acute care hospital setting

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license

Certifications Required

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate competency to be completed during orientation (passing score required)

Work Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday
• Pass/fail testing on ECG and medication dosing during orientation
• PBDS Assessment waived

Licensure & Background Checks

• Permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license required
• Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually
• Fingerprints must be completed under nursing-specific code (4723.09)
• Candidates can start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)

Onboarding & Orientation

• Completion of online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Modules include facility-specific training and SafeMedicate preparation
• Orientation includes competency exams and pass/fail testing on ECG and medication dosing
• Candidates returning to the facility with less than 6 months gap may have some orientation requirements waived

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams required
• Must carry government-issued photo ID during assignment
