Job Opportunity: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with recent Neuro ICU experience for a travel/contract role.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU
- Years of Experience:
- 2 years recent Neuro ICU experience with prior travel experience, OR
- 3 years recent Neuro ICU experience without prior travel experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Required if only 2 years Neuro ICU experience
- First-timers: Not accepted unless they have 3 years recent Neuro ICU experience
Work Schedule & Location Requirements
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility (strictly enforced)
- On-call as needed
- Weekend shifts as needed
- No block scheduling, but weekend blocks may be considered (discuss during interview)
- Locals within 100-mile radius are not accepted
Licensing & Compliance
- Must have a current Tennessee license or Compact license at time of submission
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at submission
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required for all RNs (except at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital)
- Other certifications may be required depending on assignment area
Background & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
- Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
- Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
- Two recent professional references required
- Skills checklist and internal evaluation may be required depending on tenure
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
- Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations)
- Immunizations required:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella – proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed
- Varicella – proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B – 3 shot series, positive titer, or signed declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required for onsite candidates during flu season)
- TB testing: True 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray if positive
Facility Specifics
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
- Photo badge required prior to start with strict guidelines (passport-style photo)
- Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start
- EPIC questionnaire required for RNs (testing out of training possible with experience)
Additional Notes
- Candidates cannot submit to more than one job/facility within this health system simultaneously
- First-time travelers with less than 3 years recent Neuro ICU experience are not accepted
- All documentation must be current and compliant at time of submission
