Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech-Diagnostic

Location: Rancho Mirage, California

Job Description

• Perform diagnostic mammograms and breast ultrasounds, including stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound biopsies, and needle localizations.
• Assist radiologists during special procedures such as ultrasound biopsy, needle localizations, and stereotactic biopsy.
• Conduct bone density screenings as requested.
• Produce quality screening and diagnostic mammography films.
• Educate patients regarding procedures and obtain appropriate breast and family history.
• Explain procedures and comparative film reviews to patients, obtaining necessary consents.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of radiology equipment and rooms.
• Complete all documentation accurately and timely using RadPlus and PenRad systems.
• Cross-train in all modalities including ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and localization procedures.
• Perform QA/QC tasks and equipment maintenance such as R2 and screen maintenance, view-box maintenance.
• Adhere to compliance policies and Code of Conduct.
• Manage time efficiently, handle stressful situations professionally, and communicate clearly with patients and healthcare staff.

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • CRT - Mammography
  • Breast Ultrasound ARRT certification and/or RDMS Breast Ultrasound certification
  • AHA BLS certification
• Experience:

  • Experience as a Mammography Tech required
  • Diagnostic techs with ultrasound experience desired
• Continuing Education:

  • Maintain current and adequate CEUs per MQSA and state regulatory requirements
• Skills:

  • Proficient in mammography and DEXA equipment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing priorities

Additional Information

• Must clock in and out using TPS within assigned shifts; prior supervisor authorization required for overtime.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations calmly and professionally.
