Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
- Unit: Trauma ICU - Level I Trauma experience required
- Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Float Requirements: ICU, IMC, Tele as needed
- Number of Beds: 16
- Number of Rooms: 14
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have prior travel experience)
- Charting System: Epic (experience required)
Certifications Required / Preferred
- Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
- Preferred:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid State Nursing License with primary source verification
- NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Background Check: 7-year history within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test: Within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
- Immunizations/Vaccinations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Employment application and resume required
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Photo for badge
- Various competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing as applicable
Notes
- Candidates residing in certain counties in Texas are not eligible for this travel contract.
- Orientation and fingerprinting requirements may apply depending on location.
- Must be able to float to ICU, IMC, and Tele units as needed.
This position is ideal for experienced ICU nurses with trauma experience who have prior travel contract experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced Level I Trauma center environment.
