Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (AHA)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (higher value confirmed)
• Comfortable and experienced attending deliveries
• Servo U ventilator experience preferred but not required
• Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Patient Population & Work Environment

• Patient types: Inpatient, ER, birth center, pediatric ER stabilization
• High-risk deliveries frequently attended
• ICU experience involved
• Facility has the highest birth volume among related hospitals

Job Duties

• Perform 8-15 treatments per day
• ABG draws and inpatient EKGs
• Assist physicians with intubation (not required to intubate independently)

Staffing & Scheduling

• Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday requirement: Every third holiday, scheduled in advance
• Call or standby call: Very rare
• Block scheduling preferred and usually accommodated (e.g., 5 nights on, 9 off)
• Manager balances schedule and is open to suggestions

Additional Information

• Department orientation: 3-6 shifts
• No floating requirements
• Dress code: Hospital-provided scrubs (OR/hospital standard)
• Equipment used: Servo U adult ventilators, infant CPAPs, etc.
• Hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7 onsite
• Staffing: Typically 2 RTs on days and nights, with manager support as needed

This position is suitable for respiratory therapists seeking a 13-week contract in a busy hospital environment with a focus on neonatal and adult respiratory care. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are welcome.
