Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Acute Care Hospital)

Job Details

• Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts, some weekends required
• Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapist)
• Required Experience: 2 years (higher interpretation from 1-2 years stated)
• Licensure: California Physical Therapist License in hand
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required
  • ACLS and PALS may be required based on specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Background Checks & Verifications

• Standard background check (7-year search including SS trace, county, nationwide sex offender)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• Education verification (transcript, diploma, or equivalent)
• Sex offender search
• State license primary source verification

Required Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• Fire Card (must be obtained within 30 days of start)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (if applicable)
• Competency exams as applicable by profession

Facility-Specific Requirements

• De-escalation training and attestation
• Assault Responsive Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training)
• Signed job description and access forms
• Voluntary meal waiver and arbitration agreement

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam clearance within the past year
• Fit mask testing within 12 months (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (2-step PPD, QGold, or T-SPOT)
• TB questionnaire within 14 days of start
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2-vaccine series required
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, 3-vaccine series, or declination with proof
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2-vaccine series required
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September - March)
• Color blind exam (14-plate Ishihara test) if applicable to specialty
• COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles

• Annual skills checklist required
