Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Cases per day: 5-10
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays as applicable
- On-Call: Maximum 3 nights per 7-day period (5 PM – 7 AM)
- Block scheduling: Not allowed
- Locals accepted
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
- Years of Experience Required: 2+ years
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
- Teaching Hospital experience: Required
- Trauma Level I or II experience: Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- New Jersey License: Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists): Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Interventional Radiology RN
- Additional certifications may be required depending on specific roles and units (e.g., Chemotherapy certification if applicable).

- Sterile procedure and equipment setup

- EPIC: Radiant, Q-site

- Cardiac Interventional Radiology
Additional Requirements
- References: 2 references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Employment Application/Resume: Must include 7 years of work history
- Work History Verification: Required for all New Jersey candidates, verifying at least 1 year prior to start date with no gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist: Must be completed and updated annually (Aya requirement)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Background Checks: Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
- Drug Screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 30 days of start
- Health Documents:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Physical exam within 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Immunizations and titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Seasonal Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Fit test and respiratory medical clearance if job tasks require respirator use
- Latex allergy questionnaire if applicable
- Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination
- Competency Exams: Medication test, Dysrhythmia/EKG competency, and other relevant clinical competencies required within 72 hours of signing
- Pass/Fail Testing: Pharmacology and EKG exams required with remediation process for failures
- Annual Education: Completion of annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment
- Vendor Medical Clearance: Required if history of positive TB or symptomatic
Additional Notes
- Scrubs are provided by the hospital
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies including floating policy and annual education requirements
- On-site fit testing is mandatory on the first day
- Candidates with facial hair must be clean-shaven for fit testing unless approved accommodation is provided
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
