Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
  • Number of Beds: 5 ORs (3 open, 2 hybrid)
  • Number of Staff: 15
  • Staff Types:
    • Day Shift: RN, CST, AT, PCT
    • Night Shift: On call
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Equipment: Operating Room (OR)
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
  • Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
  • Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
  • Aortic Replacements
  • Vascular Procedures
  • Heart Transplants

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
  • Strong cardiovascular (CV) nursing experience
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Floating Area: Spine Operating Room
  • Dress Code: Scrub color/attire provided for OR staff
  • On-call Protocol: 45-minute response time from phone call to clock-in
  • Weekend and Night Coverage: Covered by call shifts
  • Patient care ratio is 1:1, emphasizing close monitoring and care

Additional Notes

  • Strong cardiovascular nursing experience is essential
  • Candidates without required skills and certifications will not be considered
  • Preferred personality fit aligns with a collaborative, patient-focused culture
