Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Hamilton, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week
- Shift Times: Staggered shifts between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8a-4:30p & 8:30a-5p)
- On-Call: 1x per week (Monday or Thursday) and 1 weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Charting System: Epic required
- Facility Type: Teaching hospital / Community hospital experience preferred
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; 1st timers and local candidates are welcome
Licenses & Certifications Required
- State License: Valid New Jersey license required
- ARRT-R (Radiologic Technologist): Required
- ARRT-VI (Vascular Interventional): Preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Interventional Radiology RN
- Additional Certifications:
- May require others depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP) – confirm with program coordinator if applicable
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific exclusions list (New Jersey Department of Treasury)
- Must include all aliases and locations worked/lived in past 7 years
- Pending background checks require attestation at start
- Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions, free of communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility requirements
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination compliance
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination proof
- Varicella immunity or vaccination proof
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within past 10 years
- Fit test and respiratory clearance as applicable
- Latex allergy questionnaire if applicable
- Color blindness test if job tasks require color discrimination
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 72 hours of signing
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for relevant units
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication knowledge with remediation policy
- References: Two references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Employment History: 7 years of work history required, with verification for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior verified)
- Skills Checklist: Must be completed and updated annually
Additional Notes
- Candidates must submit all required documents promptly to clear credentialing.
- Candidates with name changes must provide proof and ensure all names are included in background checks.
- Candidates switching between RWJ sites with less than 30-day gaps may have some documentation accepted from previous assignments.
- Orientation and annual education sign-offs are required prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Some certifications and training (e.g., Management of Assaultive Behavior for ER/Behavioral Health RNs) may be required depending on assignment.
- Facility-specific policies such as floating and safety manual acknowledgments must be completed.
This position offers a structured weekday schedule with on-call responsibilities and requires a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience in Radiology/Cardiology. Candidates should be prepared to meet comprehensive credentialing, health, and competency requirements to ensure compliance with facility and state regulations.
