Job Opportunity: PT Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Acute care experience required
  • Schedule: Prefer 5 days per week, 8-hour days; 4 days of 10 hours possible if needed
  • May care for COVID patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
  • Weekend work as needed
  • Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays if needed
  • No call or floating requirements

Experience & Licensure Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Physical Therapy)
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in Pennsylvania OR Compact PT Licensure
  • EPIC experience required
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required (refer to unit/job description)
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, etc.) as applicable per unit/job description
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for applicable candidates (pass/fail process applies)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start (cannot start pending)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending if appointment receipt is on file, but must finalize within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
  • Education verification of highest degree required
  • Pending background check attestation required if any results are pending at start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted)
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles) – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Mumps – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Rubella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B – positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) or declination with booster
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap – within 10 years
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required by October 31 annually (declinations NOT accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only, not required by facility)
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Most recent resume or employment application required
  • Annual skills checklist required
  • Facility-specific documents including:
    • Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
    • Signed facility agreements (Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit)
    • Medical statement of ability to work within 90 days of start
  • Completion of facility Learning Management System (LMS) modules and new hire orientation by first day

Notes

  • Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free environment; notify prior to submission
  • Manager interview required after clinical screening
  • Candidate must finalize all background and health documentation prior to or shortly after start to remain on assignment
