Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)

Location: Derry, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: ICU
• Number of Beds: 8
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Unit Staffing: Mixed patient population, open ICU, goal staffing 4 RNs 24/7
• Equipment: GE B650 cardiac monitors, ventilators, Gaymar cooling
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling encouraged, every other weekend (EOW), overtime available if desired, flexible scheduling
• Floating Policy: ICU nurses may float to critical care or intermediate care areas as needed

Patient Care & Experience

• AIDET validation during orientation
• Focus on nurse communication: listening carefully and explaining clearly
• Use of white boards, hourly rounding, bedside care conference/hand-off

Required Certifications & Licenses

• NH Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in Medical and Surgical ICU
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required
• Preferred: AIBP experience and CCRN certification

Procedures & Responsibilities

• Ventilator care
• Therapeutic Hypothermia
• PCI/STEMI care
• IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
• Invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• TEE/cardioversion
• Temporary pacemaker management
• Sepsis management
• Stroke/TPA administration
• DKA management
• ICU RNs serve as responders for Code Blue and Rapid Response Team
