Radiologic Technologist (X-ray) - West Virginia

Job Details

• Specialty: X-ray
• Location: Weirton, West Virginia
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shifts:

  • 2,2,3 schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on)
  • 8-hour shifts: Day (various start times between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM), Afternoon (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM), Midnight (12:00 AM - 8:00 AM)
  • Weekend: Every other weekend required
  • Holiday: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
  • Overnight shifts may require being the only tech in-house

Department & Work Environment

• 4 imaging rooms: 3 general X-ray, 1 fluoroscopy, 2 portable units, 3 C-Arms
• Staffing: 6-7 techs during day, 3-4 on evenings, 1 on midnights
• Radiologist coverage: In-house until 5 PM, on-call overnight
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA)
• EMR: Community Works
• PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
• Equipment includes GE AMX portables with DR-Konica, Del Medical, Siemens, Philips diagnostic rooms, and OEC C-arms

Job Duties

• Perform general X-ray studies, portable X-rays, fluoroscopy cases (orthopedic and GI), and OR imaging (cystoscopy, ortho, GI)
• Float between general X-ray department, fluoroscopy, and operating room
• Average volume: approximately 110 scans/studies per day
• No IV starts required
• Orientation: 5 shifts with a preceptor, including four 10-hour shifts weekly, rotating all shifts and every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Valid WV X-ray license
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification
• Must be able to function competently in all areas: general X-ray, portable X-ray, OR, and fluoroscopy
• Prior travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule for submissions
• WV CARES clearance required prior to start

• Dress code: Clean, professional scrubs of any color allowed; permanent staff wear emerald green (matching optional)
• No call or standby requirements
• Must disclose any licensing issues at time of submission
