Job Description

Critical Care Registered Nurses provide care for patients with severe medical issues such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities include:

• Assessing patient conditions and implementing care plans
• Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
• Assisting physicians with procedures
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Managing ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment
• Administering IV fluids and medications
• Suctioning and collaborating with the critical care team
• Responding to life-saving situations using nursing protocols
• Acting as patient advocate and providing education/support to families
• Occasionally caring for pre- and post-operative patients
• May perform case management, policy making, or administrative duties

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in ICU
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years recent ICU RN experience in a hospital setting
• Licenses: Wyoming RN license or multi-state RN license required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS/ENPC required; TNCC preferred (all must be American Heart Association certifications)
• Additional:

  • Candidates may occasionally care for pediatric/adolescent patients (no dedicated pediatric unit)
  • May need to float between Lander and Riverton campuses depending on census
