Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath RN

Location: Bloomington, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Registered Nurse to work in a cardiac catheterization lab with 2 labs and 6 pre/post beds. The role involves managing an average of 3 caths and 2 angiograms per day.

Required Qualifications

• License: Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
• Experience:

  • Previous cath lab experience required
  • Ability to read tele strips and titrate drips
  • Knowledge of IV medications
  • Preferred experience with peripheral angiography, interventional radiology (IR), and neuro intervention
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)

Work Details

• Shift: 8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Call Requirements:

  • On call 2-3 weeknights per week
  • On call every 3rd weekend
  • On call 2 holidays per year
• Orientation: Approximately 1 week (4 shifts) of unit-specific orientation
• Floating: Rarely required; will not take patient assignments when floating
• Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided

Patient Population & Procedures

• Common diagnoses and procedures include STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, all heart caths, peripheral angiograms, IVC placement, and temporary pacemaker insertion

Equipment & Systems

• EMR: Epic
• Monitoring Equipment: Philips

Additional Notes

• Charge nurse is present and may take assignments occasionally
• Cath Lab Techs available on shift
• Drug-free campus with mandatory negative drug screen for all panels

This position is ideal for a Cardiac Cath RN with solid cath lab experience looking for a 13-week contract in Illinois with a structured call schedule and comprehensive orientation.
