Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology / Special Procedures / IR / Neurovascular Tech)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts with rotating call
- Shift: Dayshift, start time varies between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM
Requirements
- Licensure:
- Virginia state license required
- ARRT CI certification required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty required (Neurovascular experience preferred)
- Technical Skills:
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- Prior Travel Experience:
- First-time travelers will be considered (no prior travel experience required)
Important Notes
- Facility has a zero tolerance policy for any license or background hits; candidates must have a clean background and license record.
- Various background checks and verifications are required, including a 7-year criminal background check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting (Virginia VSP National Criminal Background Check starting 1/1/2026).
- Physical exam, immunizations, and health screenings must be current and compliant with facility policies (including TB test, vaccinations, drug screening, and fit testing for N95 masks).
- Required health documents include titers for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, and others as applicable.
- Flu vaccination is required annually unless a medical or religious exemption is approved (masking required if exempt).
- COVID-19 vaccination is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates must provide proof of 2 professional references and complete a skills checklist annually.
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS and BLS (AHA cards accepted)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for RNs as applicable
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Color Blind Testing (100% passing score required)
- NIH Stroke Certification (for applicable nursing roles)
Additional Facility Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge before start
- Completion of facility-specific documents such as job description acknowledgment, Pyxis acknowledgment (for RNs), and various questionnaires (TB, latex allergy, flu exemption)
- Vehicle registration form required before start
- Fingerprinting and criminal record request forms must be completed timely
