Job Opportunity: RN (Registered Nurse) - Med Surg (5SE)

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Unit: 5SE - Medical Surgical
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• License: Active North Dakota or Compact RN License
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years recent Medical Surgical experience in a larger hospital (200+ beds), level 2 or higher trauma center
  • Travel experience required unless candidate has multiple years of experience in a large level 1 trauma center
  • Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required
• Skills: EPIC experience required

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour shifts, every other week (EOW) and every other weekend (EOH)
• Patient Ratio:

  • Day shift: 5:1
  • Night shift: 6:1
• Unit Size: 47 beds
• Floating: Home unit is 5SE, but may float to any med/surg unit on any campus
• Orientation:

  • 1 day lead center training
  • 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor (12-hour days/nights with every other weekend)

Job Description

• Care for Medical Surgical and Surgical Oncology patients
• Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Practice within full scope of nursing expertise using age and population-specific standards
• Utilize equipment including EMR-Epic, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry

• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Prior employment with the facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
