Job Opportunity: MS/ TELE RN (Travel)

Location: Hazard, Kentucky

Job Description

  • Work on Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit with short stays.
  • Responsible for all MS/Telemetry and observation patients.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7.
  • Floating to other units required during low census.
  • Schedule: 36/48 hours over a two-week pay period.
  • Orientation provided bi-weekly.
  • Must reside within 100 miles of the facility.
  • Start date is the date needed on the job.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association) – front and back of certificate if not electronic.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) – required for all RNs except Psych and True Med/Surg units.
  • NIH Certification – required for RN specialties except OR and Psych.
  • Valid nursing license for Kentucky or compact license valid in Kentucky.
  • Nursys verification within 30 days of start.

Required Immunizations & Health Requirements

  • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer; if starting series, first dose required at start.
  • Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination accepted.
  • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, October-March) or approved medical/religious exemption.
  • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer; if starting series, first dose required at start.
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years or declination accepted.
  • Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP within 1 year prior to start.
  • TB Quantiferon blood test within 1 year prior to start.
  • If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire.
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start (includes multiple substances, marijuana/THC excluded).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in specialty (RN Telemetry I).
  • No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned.

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete and submit an ARH Submission Packet including cover page, resume, skills checklist, driver’s license, and license/certification verification.
  • Background check within 30 days prior to start, including 7-year county history, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender registry, SAM, OIG.
  • Annual updates required for background checks, drug screens, immunizations, and physicals.
  • Verification of education and employment history required.
  • Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Completion of unit-specific skills checklist, competency exam, EKG/Telemetry exam, and core competencies within 1 year prior to start.
  • Completion of ARH Employee Health Attestation Form and compliance with employee health file requirements.
  • Two professional references required: one charge or higher and one supervisor reference within the last year.
  • Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
