Job Description

• Provide quality respiratory care services to patients of all age groups, inpatient and outpatient, under supervision.
• Perform therapy services and testing within the scope of Cardiopulmonary Services and licensure guidelines of Maine.
• Attend in-service training and continuing education to enhance skills.
• Call is required.

Requirements

• Current Respiratory Care Practitioners License, State of Maine.
• National Board for Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or eligible to sit for the RRT exam within one year of starting.
• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program with CRT or RRT credential.
• At least 2 years clinical experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is optional.
• Experience with Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology.
• Ability to perform therapeutic respiratory care procedures including:

  • Use of adult, pediatric, and neonate mechanical ventilation
  • Use of BiPAP/CPAP
  • Performance of EKGs, PFTs, Cardiac Stress testing
  • Interpretation of basic cardiac arrhythmias
