Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• Patients with MI, CHF, Arrhythmias, PVD, and some medical-surgical overflow
• Many cardiac drips managed (no titration)

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7 AM – 7 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1

Required Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications

• RN License in Louisiana or compact state
• BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty (Telemetry/Cardiac preferred)

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Orientation & Onboarding

• New experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days
• Precepted by trained staff with competency validations including MedSurg-specific validation
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
• Annual competency verification required

Job Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a telemetry setting
• Manage clinical situations including cardiac drips (without titration)
• Perform nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
