Job Opportunity: RN - Oncology (Travel)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Unit Information

• Unit: K9A - Oncology/Women’s Surgical
• Number of Beds: 24
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
• Equipment: Standard unit equipment
• EMR System: Cerner

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Oncology
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty
• Certifications:

  • Required: BLS
  • Preferred: Chemo Certification (nice to have, not required)
• Licenses: Valid Registered Nurse License
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Typical Procedures on Unit

• Occasional pelvic exams
• Echo
• Thoracentesis

Work Environment & Culture

• Team players who are willing to learn are the best fit
• Floating occasionally to other med-surg units (rare)
• Dress Code:

  • RNs: Navy, white, or a combination of both
  • CNAs: Galaxy Blue
• Staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
• Rare on-call duties
