Job Opportunity: RN - Oncology (Travel)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: K9A - Oncology/Women’s Surgical
- Number of Beds: 24
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
- Equipment: Standard unit equipment
- EMR System: Cerner
Job Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Oncology
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty
- Certifications:
- Required: BLS
- Preferred: Chemo Certification (nice to have, not required)
- Licenses: Valid Registered Nurse License
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Typical Procedures on Unit
- Occasional pelvic exams
- Echo
- Thoracentesis
Work Environment & Culture
- Team players who are willing to learn are the best fit
- Floating occasionally to other med-surg units (rare)
- Dress Code:
- RNs: Navy, white, or a combination of both
- CNAs: Galaxy Blue
- Staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
- Rare on-call duties
