Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technologist
Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description
The Certified Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in facilitating safe and effective intraoperative surgical procedures. This position requires expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques in accordance with nursing practice standards and regulatory guidelines (State Board of Nursing, Joint Commission, AORN, AST).
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for surgical procedures focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control.
- Collaborate and communicate with Registered Nurses during intra-operative activities.
- Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly and accounted for; report any issues immediately.
- Strictly adhere to aseptic technique and infection control policies.
- Knowledgeable in patient positioning, safe use of electrical and power equipment, and surgical instruments.
- Follow safety policies and unit procedures; maintain confidentiality and patient privacy.
- Assist anesthesia and OR team during patient code/critical situations.
- Participate in mandatory in-services and learning activities for new equipment and technologies.
- Share knowledge with new personnel and identify learning needs.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and professional behavior.
- Assist in creation and maintenance of Preference Cards as directed.
Requirements
- Education: Associate Degree preferred.
- Certifications: Surgical Technologist Certification preferred; BLS certification required.
- Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume entry-level to moderate experience in surgical technology.
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required.
Additional Information
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
