Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Unit Information

• Unit: Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU)
• Number of Beds: 20
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 10 nurses
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 10 nurses
• Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:3 during staffing challenges
• Equipment Used: Camino ICP, CRRT, EVD, Wound vacs, arterial/CVC lines
• EMR System: Cerner

Required Skills & Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in ICU
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty
• Required Background: Trauma surgical ICU experience
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Preferred Skills

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses)

Typical Procedures Performed

• Central line insertions
• Chest tube insertions
• Arterial line insertions
• Percutaneous tracheostomies

Work Environment & Culture

• Best Fit: Teamwork-oriented individuals
• Floating Areas: MICU, NSICU, CICU, CVICU, K7 PCU, G7 PCU, 4H CVPC
• Dress Code: Navy blue top and bottom or navy bottom with white top
• Schedule: Every other weekend required, some on-call
