Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Level II trauma center
- Comprehensive stroke center
- Level III neonatal intensive care unit
- Only children’s hospital in the region with pediatric emergency room and 30 pediatric subspecialists
- Busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas
- Only open heart and interventional cardiology in the region

Unit Information
- Department: Respiratory Services, Adult Service Line
- Location: Main RT Department, Floor A343
- Number of Beds: 850
- Number of Staff: 120
- Day Shift RRTs: 17-20
- Night Shift RRTs: 12-16
- Patient Ratios: 10 - 25
- Equipment Used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- Hamilton C1 ventilator
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- EMR System: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Respiratory Therapist (RT) License in North Carolina
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (required)
- Preferred Certifications: NRP, ACCS
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as an RRT in respiratory therapy specialty
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Job Responsibilities
- Perform all respiratory therapy tasks and functions
- Float to all critical care units and floors as needed
Work Schedule & Other Details
- Varying weekends with at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs

- Must hold all required certifications and licenses
- Comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with diverse patient populations
- Able to float across critical care units
- Strong clinical skills with experience using advanced respiratory equipment
