Job Opportunity: RN - Coronary Care ICU (T4)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 24-bed CTICU/CVICU unit with a high acuity patient population.
- Patient types include cardiac surgery recovery, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, thoracic surgery, ECMO, esophagectomy, lobectomy, pneumonectomy, TAVR, and more.
- High number of bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, and epidurals.
- Float to other ICUs and telemetry units with a patient ratio of 4:1 on telemetry. Floating to Westgate campus may be required.
- Shifts are 12 hours, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am, with 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and holiday rotation.
- Charge nurse duties included (no patient assignment).
- Nurse aides (2 PCTs) support high census days and nights.
- Telemetry monitoring uses Phillips equipment.
- Intensivist coverage during the day and on-call at night.
- No dedicated IV team; strong IV skills required.
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7, including transplant patient support.
- Orientation includes 2 days on the floor plus a pass/fail SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (except ED and NyICU with modified requirements).
- Must pass a Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts). Failure results in a 6-month disqualification within the region.
- Facility is a teaching hospital; nurses may have nursing students assigned.
Required Qualifications
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Arizona.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of core ICU experience in specialty (Coronary Care ICU/CTICU/CVICU). Level 1 Trauma experience required. CVICU experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CCRN preferred.
- EMR: Experience with Cerner required.
- Additional Requirements:
- Prior travel experience required for ED and Neuro ICU roles (not explicitly stated for this role, so assume not required here).
- Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings.
- Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing.
- Must have own vehicle if part of a travel team.
- Must pass day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab and dysrhythmia exam.

- Must have been off permanent staff at the facility system for 12 months to be eligible for travel assignment.

- Unit nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2, with many 1:1 assignments.
- Parking is assigned with shuttle service to the facility; night shift parking in a garage.
- Strict grooming and appearance policies enforced.
- Facility will not consider contracts shorter than 13 weeks.
- Weekly orientations held on Mondays (except holidays).
