Job Opportunity: RN - LTACH ICU (Travel)

Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) ICU setting.
  • Must have at least 2 years of current LTACH experience.
  • Patient ratio is 1:4.
  • Use of Meditech EMR system.
  • Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
  • RN must reside within 100 miles of the facility.
  • Schedule is 36/48 hours over a two-week pay period.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of current LTACH nursing experience.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Kentucky RN license or compact RN license.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • NIH Certification (required for RN specialties except OR and Psych).
  • Nursys verification within 30 days of start.

Immunizations & Health Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccine (religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation).
  • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer.
  • Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination.
  • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer.
  • Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted).
  • Influenza vaccine (required October-March; exemptions require approval).
  • Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating clear to work without restrictions.
  • TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start.
  • If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire.

Background & Compliance

  • Background check within 30 days prior to start (7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, SAM, OIG).
  • Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (excluding marijuana/THC).
  • Verification of education and employment.
  • Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification (Kentucky).
  • Submission of ARH Assignment Confirmation within 24 hours of acceptance.
  • Completion of ARH submission packet including cover page, resume, skills checklist, driver’s license, and license/certification verification.
  • Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor reference within last year).

Skills & Competency Exams

  • ARH Skills Checklist (unit specific, within one year).
  • ARH Competency Exam (unit specific, within one year).
  • ARH EKG Exam and Telemetry Exam (unit specific, within one year).
  • ARH Core Competencies (HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives).

  • Start date on job is the start date needed.
  • Assignment confirmation must be loaded within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
  • Candidates should not be submitted to more than one job at a time.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
