Job Opportunity: Cardiovascular Technician (CVOR Tech) - Travel Position

Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel


Job Description

  • Role: Cardiovascular Scrub Technician
  • Shift: 8-hour shifts
  • On-call required
  • Must have experience with "Fresh Heart" cases
  • Orientation occurs bi-weekly
  • Start date is immediate upon acceptance
  • RN candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility to be considered

Contract Length

  • 12 weeks

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of current and previous experience as a Cardiovascular Technician

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • NCCT or AST certification required
  • Valid Cardiovascular Technician license or certification as applicable in Kentucky (including compact states if applicable)

Required Immunizations & Health Requirements

  • COVID-19 Vaccine (proof of completed series; religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer prior to start
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or proof of 3 vaccine series or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer prior to start
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required seasonally (Sept. 1 - May 31); religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; declinations accepted
  • TB Testing: QuantiFERON blood test within one year prior to start; if positive PPD, chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire required
  • Annual Physical or Physician note within 1 year prior to start stating clearance to work without restrictions

Background & Screening Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days prior to start including: 7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, national sex offender, SAM, OIG
  • Drug screen including multiple substances (annual update required)
  • Employment and education verifications
  • Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification (Kentucky)
  • Social Security Trace (if run separately)
  • Various federal and state exclusion lists (EPLS, OFAC, SAM)

Competency & Skills Verification

  • Specialty job description signed and dated (annual update required)
  • Competency exam specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety, infection control, elder abuse, cultural diversity, advance directives (annual update required)
  • Skills checklist specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start

References

  • Two professional references required:
    • One charge nurse or higher
    • One supervisor reference within the last year

Additional Notes

  • Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer
  • Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position
