Required Certifications and Licenses

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Valid/current US Driver’s License or US ID
• Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusions within 30 days of start
• Primary source verification of certifications and licenses
• Competency exam required for all clinical candidates
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions
• Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• References: 2 professional references required

Additional Requirements

• Fingerprints must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for candidates without an Illinois state license providing direct care
• Various state-specific background searches required within 30 days of start (e.g., Department of Corrections, Most Wanted, Youth Offender Registry)
• Badge photo required before start
• Parking permit required (no cost)
