Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - OR (Travel)
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Main OR
- Number of ORs: 14
- Staff: 70 Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs)
- Shift Coverage:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN/1 Surgical Technologist (ST) per OR, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Anesthesia Technicians (ATs), Trauma team
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN, 1 ST
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1 (not guaranteed)
- EMR System: Meditech
Job Description
- Flexible day/evening hours as needed
- Call required
- Procedures performed: All typical OR procedures except Cardiovascular OR (CVOR), Neurosurgery, and Transplants
- Preferred shifts: 1500-2300 (3 PM - 11 PM), 1100-2100 (11 AM - 9 PM) considered
- Team environment with high accountability and expertise expected
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: CST/ORT (Surgical Technologist in Operating Room)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in CST/ORT specialty
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NBSTA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
- DORA (Division of Regulatory Agencies) Certification
- Must have orthopedic/joint surgery experience
- Flexibility and self-direction required
Preferred Qualifications
- Level I trauma experience
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Additional Notes
- The unit is competitive and values team players with a high level of accountability
- Exposure to a busy OR environment with a variety of surgical cases (excluding CVOR, Neuro, and Transplants)
