Job Description

• Position in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with 12 private patient rooms.
• May float to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Emergency Department (ED) patient holds as needed.
• PICU patients include critically-ill or injured infants, children, and teens.
• The NICU float involves caring for "feeders and growers" babies (e.g., babies on oxygen or antibiotics, but not the sickest infants).
• Work environment is family-centered with private rooms, family consultation spaces, and state-of-the-art equipment.
• EMR system used: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current PICU / Pediatric Intensive Care experience.
• Must be willing to float to NICU and ED patient holds when needed.
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (AHA) required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications (AHA or ARC) required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Skills checklist specific to PICU discipline required.
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred.

Work Schedule & Other Details

• 36-40 hours per week, with overtime billable after 40 hours.
• Orientation dates are firm; specific start dates required.
• Night shift position.
