Description
Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
Patient Population

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or minimum CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician) with critical care skills and 5+ years experience as a therapist
- Additional certifications may be required depending on specialty and facility policies (e.g., NRP, PALS)
Skills and Work Setting Requirements
- ABG Interpretation
- CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BiPAP
- Flow-by oxygen delivery
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Trach collar management
- High flow nasal cannula
- Airway management
Work Schedule and Requirements
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
- Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Floating within facility and possibly to an additional nearby campus (within 3 miles)
- No call requirements
- Holiday work expected if major holidays fall during assignment (up to 2 holidays)

- Epic (required)
- Pyxis
Orientation and Compliance
- Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance results in 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive TB)
- Required vaccinations or proof of immunity: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu seasonal vaccination or declination
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
- Medication and competency exams required by agency (not client) including color blindness and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams
Additional Notes
- Scrub color: Pewter gray
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Locals accepted at same rate
This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working with a diverse patient population across neonates to geriatrics, have required certifications, and are flexible with floating and weekend shifts.
