Job Summary

The Surgical Technician assists the healthcare team during the intra-operative period by preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment, and assisting the surgeon throughout the procedure. This role requires knowledge of specific surgical procedures, the ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a dynamic environment, and readiness to respond immediately in urgent or emergency situations. The Surgical Tech must apply aseptic technique and have basic knowledge of medical terminology and the metric system.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aseptic technique during surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation.
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts consistently according to policy.
• Adhere to professional standards of practice.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology, and surgical instrumentation.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
