Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Nuclear Medicine Tech)
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts
- Weekend shifts may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be included at time of submission
- EPIC experience preferred
- Cardiac skills/experience required (hard stop)
- First-time travelers not accepted (must have at least 2 years of experience)
- Years of experience required: 2 years (hard stop)

Required Qualifications
- Valid California State Nuclear Medicine Technologist License
- NMTCB Certification
- BLS Certification
- Cardiac skills/experience mandatory
- Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Tech experience required
- Prior travel experience not required
Required Certifications (as applicable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation approved
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - may be required depending on unit
- Other certifications may be required based on unit or specialty (verify with clinical leadership)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification and employment references required
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required prior to start
- Completion of Providence-specific WorkRamp modules and Epic training as assigned
Additional Notes
- Local radius for this assignment is 50 miles
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application must include at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps
This position is ideal for experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists with cardiac skills who are looking for a travel contract in a well-established acute care hospital setting using Epic.
