Description
Travel ICU/CCU RN Opportunity
Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
- ICU/ MICU nursing role with 1:2 patient ratios
- Schedule: 36/48 hours
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
Required Experience
- Minimum 2+ years ICU/MICU nursing experience
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Kentucky RN license or compact RN license valid in Kentucky
- BLS (American Heart Association) – front and back of certificate required if not electronic
- ACLS (American Heart Association) – front and back of certificate required if not electronic
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for RN specialties except OR)
Required Immunizations & Health Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine proof or approved religious/medical exemption with documentation
- Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer; if starting series, first dose required at start, second dose within 28-30 days
- Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
- Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer; if starting series, first dose required at start, second dose within 28-30 days
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (Td not accepted); declinations accepted
- Annual Influenza vaccine (October-March) or approved exemption
- Annual physical or physician note within 1 year prior to start, stating clear to work without restrictions
- TB Quantiferon blood test within 1 year prior to start
- If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire
Required Background & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days prior to start including 7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, national sex offender, SAM, OIG, EPLS, OFAC
- Education and employment verifications combined with background check results
- Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start
- Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (excluding marijuana/THC)
- Social Security trace, OIG search, SAM, National Sex Offender checks as applicable
- Submission packet must include cover sheet, resume, skills checklist, driver’s license, and license/certification verification in one PDF
Required Competencies & Testing
- Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year prior to start, renewed annually
- Competency exams (including EKG and telemetry) with passing score of 80% or higher within 1 year prior to start
- Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety orientation, bloodborne pathogens, fire safety, infection control, elder abuse, age-specific care, cultural diversity, advance directives; renewed annually
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (1 charge nurse or higher, 1 supervisor)
- Driver’s license required for submission
- Assignment confirmation form must be completed within 24 hours of accepting offer
Schedule & Orientation
- Orientation offered bi-weekly
- Start date on job is the start date needed
