Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry II (Travel)

Location: Prestonsburg, Kentucky
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN Telemetry II for a travel assignment. The unit is expanding and requires a nurse with at least 2 years of current experience in telemetry nursing. The nurse will work with 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratios and use Meditech EMR. Orientation is provided bi-weekly.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in telemetry nursing (highest required experience)
• Licensure: Must have a valid Kentucky RN license or a compact RN license valid in Kentucky
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association) – front and back of certificate required if not electronic
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) – required for all RNs except Psych and certain Med/Surg units
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for RN specialties except OR and Psych)
• Other Requirements:

  • Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
  • Must provide proof of immunizations and health screenings prior to start, including:

    • 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
    • 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
    • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, October-March) or approved exemption
    • 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
    • Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years) or declination
    • TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start
  • Annual physical or physician statement within 1 year prior to start, stating clear to work without restrictions
• Background and Compliance:

  • Recent background check (within 30 days prior to start) including criminal, sex offender, and employment verifications
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start (excluding marijuana/THC)
  • Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Submission of professional references (2 required; one must be a charge nurse or higher, one supervisor reference within last year)
  • Completion of ARH-specific submission packet and job description signed and dated
• Skills and Competency:

  • Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exam within one year prior to start
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety, infection control, elder abuse, cultural diversity, advance directives, etc.
  • EKG and Telemetry exam within one year prior to start

• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer
• Start date on job posting is the start date needed
