Job Opportunity: RN - Cardiac Catheterization (Cath Lab)
Location: Prescott, Arizona

Job Description
- Work in a Cath Lab with 2 rooms and 1 recovery room, handling approximately 9-12 cases per day.
- Typical shifts are 10 hours, 4 days per week (Monday-Friday with 1 weekday off).
- Call requirements include 7-9 days of call per month, including one weekend of call (Friday 5:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM).
- Call response time is 30 minutes.
- Cath Lab operates Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with call team coverage from 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Floating is generally not required but may occur during critical staffing needs.
- Scrubs are provided for use in the Cath Lab; nurses wear street clothes to work and change on site.
Patient Population & Procedures
- Variety of cardiac/interventional cardiology cases: diagnostic heart caths, PCIs, cardiac interventions, device implants.
- Interventional radiology procedures: ports, feeding tubes, dialysis catheters, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, vertebroplasties.
- Vascular procedures: AAA/ELG endovascular repairs, TCAR, carotid angiogram/stenting, peripheral diagnostics and interventions.
- Structural heart procedures: TAVR, MitraClip, left atrial appendage closures, PFO closures, alcohol ablations, balloon aortic valvuloplasty.
- Electrophysiology: cardiac ablations, device implants.
Job Duties
- Circulate cases including administering medications and sedation.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures.
- Scrub and circulate if trained.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- RN license required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Experience Requirements
- Prefer at least 3 years of experience in both Interventional Radiology (IR) and Cath Lab nursing.
- Experience with vascular and/or structural heart procedures preferred.
- Experience with charting systems and equipment is preferred but can be discussed during interview.
Technology & Equipment
- EMR: Cerner.
- Hemodynamic charting system: Merge.
- Room equipment includes Phillips x-ray tables, ultrasound (regular and cardiac), and various specialized devices such as Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, laser atherectomy, CSI, rotablator, angiojet, FFR, IVUS, OCT, and CO2 angiography.
Orientation & Training
- 1 day hospital orientation followed by 2 days department-specific orientation.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
Additional Notes
- Team structure: 3-4 person teams per room depending on case type; 4-person teams for call coverage.
- 24/7 call coverage with interventional cardiologists and radiologists.
- Manager and charge nurse present during regular shifts.
